Connecting through Community Nights: We've Got Friends at Paper Mill Playhouse

Greetings, friends and supporters of We've Got Friends! We're thrilled to share with you the heartwarming experience our participants had on Wednesday, December 27th, as they attended a special Community Night at Paper Mill Playhouse to see the beloved classic, 'Fiddler On The Roof.'

A Night of Culture and Connection

Picture this: a group of teens and tweens, filled with anticipation and excitement, gathering at Paper Mill Playhouse for a magical evening of theater. As the curtain rose and the timeless story of 'Fiddler On The Roof' unfolded onstage, our participants were transported to a world of tradition, love, and resilience.

But Community Nights at We've Got Friends are about much more than just enjoying a performance. They're about fostering connections, building relationships, and creating memories that last a lifetime outside of our regular programming. Our Community Nights are shared with participants across our different groups, it's a chance for We’ve Got Friends to come together as a whole!

What Are Community Nights?

Community Nights are special events organized by We've Got Friends to provide our participants with unique opportunities to engage with their peers, explore new experiences, and be part of the vibrant community around them. These events are open to both We've Got Friends participants, ages 13-22, and We've Got Friends Jr. participants, ages 7-12, ensuring that everyone has the chance to join in the fun.

From attending theater productions to visiting museums, from exploring local landmarks to participating in cultural festivals, Community Nights offer a wide range of activities that cater to diverse interests and preferences. But regardless of the specific event, the underlying goal remains the same: to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome and valued. Learn more about our mission.

Why Community Nights Matter

Community Nights play a vital role in the work we do at We've Got Friends. They provide opportunities for our participants to socialize, develop social skills, and expand their horizons in a supportive and inclusive environment. For many of our participants, these events are a chance to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and build confidence.

But perhaps most importantly, Community Nights strengthen the bonds of friendship and camaraderie among our participants. By coming together to share in cultural experiences and create shared memories, our participants forge connections that extend beyond the walls of our events and into their everyday lives.

A Call to Community: Let's Create More Opportunities Together

As we reflect on the success of our recent Community Night at Paper Mill Playhouse, we're inspired to think about the possibilities that lie ahead. With your support, we can continue to expand our offerings and bring even more opportunities for connection and enrichment to our participants.
