About Our Groups

Who We Are

Welcome to We've Got Friends (WGF), where teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) come together to make friends and thrive together!

At WGF, we offer a variety of inclusive Hangouts and Special Events where everyone feels welcome and valued. Best of all, our programming is FREE to participants and their families. Getting started is easy – just create an account, fill out the required paperwork, sign up for hangouts using our website calendar, and you’ll be all set to join in the fun!

Hangouts & Special Events are led by experienced Site Hosts who ensure that every participant feels welcomed and has a fantastic experience, guaranteeing a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

We're grateful for our amazing volunteers, ages 12 and up, who help make our programming possible. Volunteers undergo training and background checks and are supervised by Site Hosts to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants.

At every Hangout, we provide a light meal ranging from pizza to sandwiches and more! It's a time for participants, parents, and caregivers to come together, break bread, and enjoy each other's company.

Oh, and did we mention that every participant receives a free WGF t-shirt? It's our way of saying thank you for being part of our community. So don't forget to rock your WGF pride at our hangouts!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Have to Create an Account?

All participants are required to create an account in order to access the booking calendar and sign up for hangouts. Creating an account will save you time and allow us to get to know you better. If you have not already done so, with a parent or caregiver, follow this checklist and click here to create your very own WGF account.

Do I Have to Sign Up?

All participants MUST SIGN UP to hang out. In the event any hangout is canceled, all registered friends will get an email notification of the change. We also collect attendance in compliance with grants and funding we receive to keep WGF free for all.

Do I Need a Chaperone?

WGF is NOT a drop-off program. In-person events REQUIRE a parent/caregiver to attend with their participant(s). This is a great time for the parents to hang out too!
